說「以前發生過的事」的時候，一個東西用 There was，很多東西用 There were。

肯定句： Subject + 過去式動詞 ...
否定句： Subject + did not (didn't) + 原形動詞 ...
疑問句： Did + Subject + 原形動詞 ...?
否定句： Subject + did not (didn't) + 原形動詞 ...
疑問句： Did + Subject + 原形動詞 ...?
肯定句： We went to Iceland. We saw a volcano. We took a lot of photos.
否定句： We didn't get too close. I didn't buy a ticket.
疑問句： Did you see the volcano? Did they go to Iceland?
說「已經做過的事」用過去式動詞（went, saw, took...）。但一變成否定句或疑問句，動詞就要「還原」成原形（go, see, take...），因為 didn't 和 Did 已經表示過去了，後面不用再變化動詞喔！
